Kia Cee'd: Engine Control System / Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS) Repair procedures
		
		
		
	
		| 1. | 
			Turn the ignition switch OFF.  | 
	
		| 2. | 
			Remove the ECTS (Refer to "Removal").  | 
	
		| 3. | 
			After immersing the thermistor of the sensor into engine coolant, measure 
			resistance between the ECTS terminals 1 and 3.  | 
	
		| 4. | 
			Check that the resistance is within the specification.  
			
				| 
					Specification: Refer to “Specification”  |  | 
	
		| 1. | 
			Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) 
			cable.  | 
	
		| 2. | 
			Disconnect the engine wiring harnness.  
			
				| (1) | 
					The intake OCV (Oil control valve) connector (A) and the exhaust 
					OCV (Oil control valve) connector (B).  
				 |  
			
				| (2) | 
					The ignition coil connectors (A), the injector extension connector 
					(B), the VIS (Variable intake system) connector (C) and the 
					PCSV (Purge control solenoid valve) connector (D).  
				 |  
			
				| (3) | 
					The FPCV (Fuel pressure control valve) connector (A), the intake 
					CMPS (Camshaft position sensor) connector (B) and the exhaust 
					CMPS (Camshaft position sensor) connector (C).  
				 |  | 
	
		| 3. | 
			Relax the engine wiring bracket installtion bolts (A).  
		 
		 | 
	
		| 4. | 
			Disconnect the connector (A), and then remove the sensor (B).  
		 | 
	
		| 
			
				| • | 
					Install the component with the specified torques.  |  
			
				| • | 
					Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. 
					If the component has been dropped, inspect before installing.
				 |  | 
	
		| 
			
				| • | 
					Apply the engine coolant to the O-ring.  |  | 
	
		| 
			
				| • | 
					Insert the sensor in the installation hole and be careful not 
					to damage.  |  | 
	
		| 1. | 
			Installation is reverse of removal.  
			
				|
